Freedom Update

Dear Larry,
Do you pay someone else for the privilege of having a job?
It seems an absurd question to ask in a supposedly free country, but the fact is that thousands of Washington workers are forced to make a choice every day between keeping their jobs and watching as their paychecks are docked to support candidates and causes with whom they have a fundamental disagreement.
Todd Hausman is just such a person. As a Washington state teacher, his choices are:
  • join the teachers' union as a full-fledged member, paying full member dues;
  • write a slightly smaller check to the union every month as a "representation fee"; or,
  • go into another line of work.
The Freedom Foundation tells Hausman's story in a compelling new television ad produced by our communications staff and now airing in the Bellingham market. You can view the ad for yourself below.
We think Todd Hausman makes a persuasive case about the tyranny of the union machine that dominates Washington state politics and we're proud to tell his story. We have to, really, because we're the organization that will. But we can't do it without your help.
Please take a few moments to watch the ad and decide for yourself whether exposing the injustice being imposed on public employees like Hausman, not to mention the damage done to your paycheck as a taxpayer, are worth exposing and eliminating.
We think you'll agree a donation to the Freedom Foundation is an investment in liberty that pays an incalculable dividends.
Thank you for all you do and all you will continue to do.
For Freedom,
Tom McCabe, CEO
Freedom Foundation
